Ah, a time I look forward to every year. The annual pilgrimage to Wilderness Wildlife Week in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. For 17 years now, the city of Pigeon Forge has organized this free annual event in January celebrating wilderness and wildlife in general and specifically that of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
Experts from all around the eastern United States present in sessions and workshops for 9 days every January. The event also organizes hikes throughout the park for 7 of those days. There’s even a photography contest for those so inclined.
I’ll be logging my impressions and experiences throughout the event this week as I’m able. If you’re outdoor oriented at all, this is a must attend event every year.
