I'm keeping up with him on Facebook and he's filming a new series called Stroud's Vanishing World where he is spending time with various indigenous people around the world. I have found over the years that if you want a show to stay on TV for years make sure I don't like it. I.e. "Friends", "American Idol", "Seinfield", etc. Get a show such as, "Everest Beyond the Limit", "Surviorman", that I like and it lasts two or three seasons or less and it's gone. Les is one of my heros. I went to, Jungle Survival School", in Panama while with the 7th Special Forces in the early 60's. Have always thought that each generation is getting weaker. Though I'll admit some of the guys in, "Group" now are in good shape and I would go in the, "bush" with them in a minute. I wish nothing but the best of good luck to Les and hope that Discovery Channel can find some one to step up and deliver the same kind of episodes. My favorite episode is the one where he is on the Alaska tundra and the polar bear when by his sleeping platform and he had the Winchester 300 and was happy that he did. I think he did around 30 episodes of Surviorman, 7 days of survival that he filmed by himself. He's 47 years old and I think he thought he might not walk out one day. He's done a number of other things including writing a book on survival and hosting Shark Week for the Discovery Channel. I'm sure Les will land on his feet and be wonderfully successful.
